While die-cast reels are often seen as a low-cost alternative to machined reels, the Lamson® Liquid Fly Reel relies on the virtues and advantages that only a pressure-cast process can offer. Casting allows this manufacturer to do things structurally that can’t be done by machining; things such as full radiused compound curves and near zero-radius inside corners. To achieve a precise fit and finish, cast parts are then machined in critical areas. Components critical to the drag system are also CNC-machined in the U.S., and reels are assembled in Boise, Idaho, alongside the company’s higher priced reels. Made in USA.
